Ladyfish wins an Alice B. Lavender Certificate for 2013!

Let me just say…..Yay!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!! Oh. My. God!!!!!!!!!

Okay, had to get that out or I was going to burst. Why you ask? Hello? Read the title. My debut novel, Ladyfish, has been awarded an Alice B. Lavender Certificate for 2013.

Little Ladyfish is all grown up an won an award! I’d like to thank all the little people…but I haven’t found any shorter than me recently so I’ll just have to thank the committee of the Alice B. awards, Radclyffe, Vic, and everyone at Bold Strokes Books for taking a chance on me and Ladyfish.

Okay, stepping out of my Oscar fantasy now and wiping away those tears (yes, I did a Gweneth)…someone pass the Kleenex, please.

So here’s a little snippet from the e-mail…

Dear Andrea:

We are writing to inform you that you have been selected as a 2013 winner of the Alice B. Lavender Certificate for your debut novel LADYFISH. The Lavender Certificate is given annually for debut novels that were read by the committee during the previous year and judged were excellent.

And this is all I have left to say right now. Wow…just…wow!
