I’m lying in bed, nursing a damn cold/lesbian flu…way worse than man-flu, just so you know…and I’ve been writing and listening to music. One song was just playing and it really struck me. Beth Nielsen Chapman, in my humble opinion an under rated singer songwriter, wrote a song called There is no Darkness. The lyrics in this song are simple yet evocative, the melody is beautiful and heart warming, and there is an ethereal quality that pervades the whole song. But the words that really mean the most to me are these ones;
There is no darkness,
There is no night,
There is no place, in Earth or space,
The great illusion,
Our eyes can’t see,
There is no darkness,
For you and me.
Sometimes the simplest things truly are the most beautiful.
